How It Works: Marketing Analytics Software That Shows What Every Campaign Made

Most marketing analytics software stops at the dashboard: clicks, leads, and which channel gets credit. CDAI (Capital, Decision, Accuracy, Intelligence), the engine behind Allocera Intelligence, goes one step further. It connects your ad accounts and CRM, works out what each campaign really made after every cost, and gives you one clear decision for every campaign, every night. Here is exactly how, in four steps.

Marketing analytics software process: how CDAI connects your data, calculates real profit and decides every campaign

The short version

  • Connect: Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, HubSpot, and Salesforce connect in one click. Other tools connect by API key, CSV upload, or webhook.
  • Calculate: every night, CDAI works out each campaign’s real profit: the revenue it closed minus every real cost of winning it.
  • Decide: one clear decision per campaign, such as scale, hold, cut, or pause, with a confidence level. You stay in control.
  • Grade: CDAI checks its own math, stops on bad data, and grades its past decisions once the results are in.

Where Most Marketing Analytics Software Stops

Improvado describes marketing analytics tools as “software platforms that collect and unify marketing data from ad platforms, CRM, and web analytics into a single” view. HubSpot says its analytics help you “measure the performance of all your marketing campaigns in one place.” That is genuinely useful. Seeing every channel together beats logging in to five dashboards.

But for a business that runs on leads, the number that decides everything usually isn’t in any of those dashboards. A campaign’s leads may be bought through a partner who takes a payout. Some customers refund. Some payments are charged back weeks later. Compliance and fulfillment cost money on every sale. None of that lives in the ad account, so the dashboard can show a healthy return on a campaign that is losing money. Our guide to marketing costs walks through each cost the platforms can’t see.

CDAI was built for that gap. It’s marketing analytics software for lead generation that answers the question the owner actually asks: did this campaign make money, and what should I do with it tomorrow?

CDAI doesn’t compete with your CRM or call tracking. It sits above them and reconciles everything into one number per campaign, then tells you what to do.

How CDAI Works in 4 Steps

  1. Connect. Link the ad accounts, CRM, and other tools you already use. Nothing about your campaigns has to change.
  2. Calculate. Every night, CDAI pulls fresh data and works out real profit, true cost per lead, and true customer acquisition cost for every campaign.
  3. Decide. For each campaign, it makes one clear call, with the numbers and a confidence level behind it.
  4. Grade. It rechecks its own math and, once enough time has passed, grades whether each past decision was right.

What happens every night, in this order:

  1. Ingest. CDAI pulls in your data from the platforms you connected. It is built for 10 platforms, plus CSV import and a generic webhook, and it reads a rolling window matched to your sales cycle (30 days by default).
  2. Build each campaign’s profit and loss. Ad spend, fees, partner payouts, refunds, chargebacks, compliance costs, and operating costs you add, against the revenue it closed.
  3. Check for risk. It watches for rising cost per lead, lead-quality decay, fraud concentrating in a campaign, chargeback spikes, shrinking margins, and partner payouts that eat too much of the revenue.
  4. Project the close-rate trend. It tracks each campaign’s weekly close rate and projects it forward, so a collapse is flagged before it reaches your margin.
  5. Make the decision. One of eight for each campaign: Scale, Hold, Cut, Pause, Quarantine, Renegotiate, Investigate, or Flag.
  6. Gate it. Every decision carries a confidence level, thin data can’t produce a Scale, and a stability gate stops decisions from flip-flopping night to night.
  7. Grade past decisions. Once a sales cycle has passed, CDAI scores whether each earlier decision was right, with the dollar impact.
  8. Lock attribution at first touch. A lead’s campaign doesn’t drift on re-sync, and revenue that can’t be tied to a campaign is kept separate, never forced into one.
  9. Run data-health checks. Stale or broken feeds are caught before they skew a decision.
  10. Update the partner scorecard. Close rate, payouts, refunds, chargebacks, and a risk tier for every lead partner.
  11. Update the budget model. An estimate of how much spend could move from Cut campaigns to Scale campaigns. It is an estimate, not a forecast.
  12. Send the nightly digest. The decisions arrive in your email as well as your dashboard.

What CDAI Connects To

A good marketing analytics software setup starts with the data you already have. CDAI has 10 built integrations, plus two ways to bring in anything else:

How it connectsTools
One clickMeta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, HubSpot, Salesforce
API key or account credentialCallRail, Ringba, Boberdoo, Bing Ads, Stripe
CSV uploadExports from 9 common platforms, recognized automatically
WebhookLeads from any other CRM or form tool you already use

You don’t need everything connected on day one. CDAI works with what you connect, and every added source makes each campaign’s number more complete. If your closed deals live in your CRM, connecting it is the step that matters most. Our guide to offline conversion tracking explains why closed revenue is the missing piece in most setups.

What CDAI Calculates

This is the part most marketing analytics software skips. For every campaign, every night, CDAI calculates real profit:

Real profit = revenue closed − ad spend − fees − partner payouts − refunds − chargebacks − compliance costs − operating costs you add From the same data it also works out True cost per lead · True customer acquisition cost · Margin per campaign

Here is what that looks like for one campaign. This is an illustrative example, not client data.

One campaign, one monthAmount
Revenue closed$30,000
Ad spend−$10,000
Partner payouts−$6,000
Fees−$500
Refunds and chargebacks−$3,500
Compliance costs−$400
Operating costs you add (fulfillment)−$6,000
Real profit$3,600

The ad dashboard would show a 3.0 return on ad spend ($30,000 ÷ $10,000) and call it a winner. The campaign did make money, but $3,600 on $30,000 of revenue is a very different story from what a 3.0 suggests, and a small rise in refunds would wipe it out. Try the math on your own numbers with our ROAS calculator or the true CAC calculator.

The Nightly Decision

Numbers alone don’t move budget, and that’s where most marketing analytics software leaves you on your own. So after calculating, CDAI makes one clear decision for each campaign, chosen from eight:

Scale
The campaign is profitable, has no risk signals, and has enough data behind it. Add budget.
Hold
The default. Keep the budget steady. This also covers campaigns whose deals haven’t closed yet, or where there isn’t enough data to confirm a Scale.
Cut
The campaign is losing money on real closed revenue. Reduce or stop spend. CDAI never cuts a campaign just because deals haven’t closed yet.
Pause
An emergency stop for extreme fraud, severe losses, or a chargeback surge.
Quarantine
Fraud is concentrating in this campaign’s leads. Isolate it and check the source.
Renegotiate
A partner’s payouts are taking too much of the revenue. Renegotiate the terms.
Investigate
Lead quality is slipping, or the close rate is projected to collapse. Review the partner or traffic source.
Flag
The data doesn’t add up, so a person checks before anyone acts.

Each decision comes with the numbers behind it and a confidence level. CDAI also watches for early warning signs, like true cost per lead rising faster than the dashboard’s, or close rates slipping, so problems show up before they reach your books. You stay in control of every move: CDAI recommends, and you decide what changes in your ad accounts. Cut, Pause, and Quarantine are advisory like every other decision: CDAI never changes your ad accounts, and a person acts on the call. Our scale, hold, cut, pause framework explains how to use each call when setting budgets.

How CDAI Checks Itself

Any marketing analytics software that tells you what to do should be able to prove it’s right. CDAI builds that in:

  • It rechecks its own math every night, and it stops on bad data instead of making decisions from it.
  • It grades its past decisions. Once your industry’s sales cycle has passed, it compares what happened with what it recommended. Our 30-day retest explains how that grading works.

How CDAI is checked

CDAI was run on 8 simulated businesses, three runs each, where the true answer is known. Every per-campaign check of true cost per lead, true customer acquisition cost and contribution margin matched the database and the engine (966 of 966). It was then run on HubSpot and Salesforce developer accounts. The simulated results are labeled as simulated, and decisions are graded per decision type and per business, never blended into one number.

The method and every result are published in the contribution margin marketing validation report.

CDAI vs. Typical Marketing Analytics Software

CDAI doesn’t replace every analytics tool. If you run an online store and want to know which channel drove a sale, attribution tools are built for that; see our comparisons of Triple Whale vs Rockerbox, the Northbeam alternative, and the Rockerbox alternative. Here is where the two approaches differ:

QuestionTypical marketing analytics softwareCDAI

The right marketing analytics software depends on the question you need answered. Many teams use both: an attribution or web analytics tool to understand the customer journey, and CDAI to decide where the money goes.

Common Questions

Marketing Analytics Software FAQs

What does marketing analytics software do?
It collects data from your ad platforms, CRM, and website so you can measure campaign performance in one place. Most tools focus on reporting and attribution. CDAI adds real profit per campaign and a clear decision for each one.
What are the four main types of marketing analytics?
Descriptive (what happened), diagnostic (why it happened), predictive (what will likely happen), and prescriptive (what to do next). Most dashboards are descriptive. CDAI is prescriptive: it tells you whether to scale, hold, cut, or pause each campaign, and shows why.
Does CDAI change my ads automatically?
No. CDAI makes a recommendation for each campaign with the numbers and a confidence level behind it. You decide what to change in your ad accounts. Every decision is advisory.
What if a tool I use isn’t one of the built integrations?
You can upload a CSV export, which CDAI recognizes automatically for 9 common platforms, or send leads from any CRM or form tool through a webhook.
Do I need to connect everything before it works?
No. CDAI works with what you connect. Your ad accounts and CRM are the core; adding partner payouts, refunds, and other costs makes each campaign’s profit more complete.
How accurate are CDAI’s decisions?
Decisions are graded per decision type and per business, never blended into one number. CDAI was validated on 8 simulated businesses where the true answer is known, then on HubSpot and Salesforce developer accounts. The method and every result are in the validation report.
